OCTAGON cooperated with SINOPEC Corp. of China in the Oil & Gas Sector to establish SINOTHARWA Drilling Co. in 2005, specializing in Drilling, Work Over and Mud Logging services in Egypt.

SINOTHARWA is owned by SINOPECSTAR, Tharwa and EGAS. SINOTHARWA currently owns 18 Rigs (13 Land Rigs, 4 Work-over Rigs and 1 Offshore Rig). SINOTHARWA has a 14% market share of the Egyptian Oil Services Market.
